15 Dez. Thirteen Cookies and Eleven Talking Trees: A recipe for an entertaining Christmas Evening
Ingredients:
- 57 highly motivated first form bilingual pupils
- 8 teachers
- 2 Christmas plays
- Eleven Christmas tree costumes
- A baker’s hat
- One cat with attitude
- Three songs
- Two line dances
- Three musical interludes
Gather all the ingredients in October and mix well for two months. Add a heaped spoonful of patience, a pinch of chaos, a lot of laughs and a sprinkle of good luck. Cross your fingers and on the eleventh of December the 1A and 1B International Bilingual Classes Christmas play 2024 will be ready. Shortly before serving, add an enthusiastic audience, including the headmaster, IBCA board members, teachers, parents, friends and family.
This year, the recipe worked well. The talking trees kept everyone entertained in The Last Christmas Tree and in the Baker’s Dozen we learnt all about the importance of the thirteenth cookie. We were also served up some classic musical treats thanks to Mr. Nowak: This Little Light of Mine, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red- Nosed Reindeer were sung by the 1AB choir. Two line dances, Santa’s Glasses and Rocking around the Christmas Tree,
kept the audience entertained. Henrik, Allessandra and Noa provided excellent musical interludes while Romina, Olivia and Lili were our hosts for the evening and guided us professionally through the programme
Some pupils were nervous, some were excited, but one thing is for sure: the IBC Christmas play is always a lot of fun.
