4BR visits LAM Research

We completed a project on Silicon and Semiconductors as part of the 18. Projektwettbewerb des VCÖ- Green Chemistry.  This included a visit to LAM Research on the 26^th of February to learn about the company and to try working on some of the equipment.

The presentation was full of photos and diagrams, that together made the concept a lot easier to understand. I must say I was very impressed about some facts… (Andrei Iordache)

I had a very realistic experience in the VR game. You had to carry out different tasks to put a chuck into a cleaning system and secure it, so it doesn’t get damaged during the cleaning process. It was fascinating, and it was very easy to follow the steps, and it gave us an experience of what to do when working at LAM Research. (Lukas Rössler)

Next you have the main part of the chuck which can be disassembled by loosening all the screws and letting them fall out by flipping the chuck over. Inside you will find a gear being held in place by springs and more gears. (Max Steinwender)
