16 Dez. 30 Years of the International Bilingual Classes Christmas Celebration
The headmaster, parents, teachers, native speakers, IBCA board members and friends were all waiting with anticipation for the show to begin at 6pm on the 10th of December. The pupils of 1A and 1B had been preparing for this moment since October and were understandably excited to start.
The preparations involved sewing their own elf hats in the handicraft lessons, painting scenery in the art lessons, learning their lines and rehearsing on and off the stage.
Finally, it was time for the presenters Aaron, Alicia and Jesse to start the proceedings. After 1B had finished their dance to Santa Claus is coming to town, the first play Santa goes Digital was performed. The plays and music were carefully chosen to reflect the passing of time because the International Bilingual Classes are celebrating their 30-years anniversary this year. On the one hand we performed a modern play about Santa and his many technical issues, on the other hand we performed the very old-fashioned Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Poems were recited by Philipp, Frederick, Juna and Lilly and there were instrumental parts of the programme too, thanks to Noah, Moritz, and Manuel.
The 1AB choir performed two songs. Firstly, Christmas in the Old Manâs Hat and then the well-known carol Deck the Hall. The whole evening was rounded off with a dance to Itâs Christmas Time by 1A. All too soon, another Bilingual Classes Christmas celebration had come to an end. After the show, the parents provided a delicious buffet which was enjoyed by cast, teachers and audience alike.
We are already looking forward to the next 30 Christmas celebrations.
