Registration

Registration for the first forms 2016/17

Enrolment must be completed in person at the school office by the parents or guardians.

Office hours are as follows:
Fr 5.02.2016: 10.00 – 12.00
Mo 8.02 – Fr 12.02.2016, daily from 8.00 – 12.00
Mo 15.02 – Th 18.02 2016, daily from 7.00- 13.30
Fr 19.02.2016: 7.00 – 12.00
Monday 22.02 – Thursday 25.02 2016: 7.00-13.30
Friday 26.2.2016: 7.00- 12.00

IMPORTANT! The time of registration is not important for acceptance.

Parents/guardians are required to bring their child’s semester report from the 4th class (original) and the social security number.

Provisional acceptance

At the end of the enrollment deadline the school will compile a list of all applicants based on their grades in the semester report of the 4th class primary school. If deemed necessary the end of year report from the 3rd class might also be taken into consideration. Provisional acceptance will be made known by the end of March based on this list and the number of places available.

Provisional acceptance can only be given when the following criteria are met:

  1. Applicants must have no less than a „good“ in the compulsory subjects German/reading/ writing and Mathematics and
  2. Applicants have not applied for enrollment in another school.

Students who cannot be offered a place in the 1st round of applications will be informed in writing by the school. These students have the possibility to reapply to a school offering free places in the 2nd round of applications. The deadline is the end of April. (Information concerning free places can be obtained from the internet platform of the Carinthian school authorities (Landesschulrat für Kärnten). Students with a less satisfactory grade than „good“ in the subjects „German/reading/writing“ or „mathematics“ can also be offered a provisional place by mid-May.The final acceptance is issued after the handing-in of the final report at the end of the school year, pending fulfillment of the legal requirements (§ 40 Abs.1 SchOG)

Acceptance
Acceptance in the 1st class of a secondary school of general education requires the successful completion of the 4th grade primary school and the grade of „very good“ or „good“ in German and Maths. If these requirements are not met and the primary school conference determines that the student does not fulfill the requirements, the candidate must take a qualifying exam.
