Psychology & Philosophy

Psychology & Philosophy

In practice and personality  oriented lessons, the focus is on informed and reflective debate concerning the basic principles and fundamental questions of our existence. A more detailed analysis of the themes covered in the 7th and 8th grades can be found on the german page.

In the optional compulsory  lessons, the focus is even more strongly on reflecting upon and scrutinising the society in which we live. The choice of subject matter covered is oriented to the interests of the students themselves and topics are covered in presentations and project work. This school year in particular focusses on the question of what is the essence and beauty of art, the use of various means of diagnosis in measuring personality with regard to actual trends, the question of legitimate rights for animals and the traditional roles of men and women in society.

The content of the lessons includes visits to and by specialists, trying out various psychological tests, writing essays and debates and discussion in class.
