Optimize your mind with the help of an innovative and skills-oriented approach to teaching, practical laboratory work, excursions into nature, visits to and from experts in Medicine and basic research, and exciting and challenging competitions.

The main goal of our team of dedicated and highly qualified staff is to provide a framework in which pupils develop into competent, responsible and dedicated young adults.

Apart from the sound basic instruction in the subject of Biology, in compliance with the state curriculum, we offer the following:

Biology laboratory courses: for both the Junior (Unterstufe) and Senior (Oberstufe) classes, in which students are given the opportunity to learn a practical and independent approach to the study of nature, using diverse laboratory methods.

Elective compulsory Biology course (Wahlpflichtfach Biologie): for the Senior classes, in which interested students have the further opportunity to broaden their individual interests in the field of Biology.

Elective non-compulsory Biology in Team (BIT): in which motivated senior students expand their knowledge and practical skills. Participating in the school’s Biology team, they cooperate and compete with other Carinthian schools in diverse practical projects and excursions.

Alpe-Adria Competitions: in which senior students are given the chance to test their practical skills and knowledge in diverse fields of Biology within the framework of an annual multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural competition with their peers from schools in neighbouring Alpe Adria regions.

Our broad range of courses and extracurricular activities takes advantage of the newly renovated Biology department, with its state-of-the-art laboratory classrooms and extensive Biology collection.
