IBC lessons in practice

The special feature of the bilingual stream is the implementation of bilingual teaching in the majority of the subjects. In practice, this means that a native speaker accompanies the teacher in class once a week. English-language textbooks, literature and work materials are used for bilingual teaching.

Furthermore, there are additional courses with the native speakers in which the pupils can learn and expand their knowledge of the English language in a playful way.

  • For the first forms: “Games and role play“.
  • For the second forms: “Fun with English“
  • For the third forms: “Let’s do drama!“
  • For the fourth forms: “Let’s do more drama!“

Participation is on a voluntary basis but highly recommended. The additional classes take place every fortnight, last 50 minutes each and are led by a native speaker alone. The number of children in all groups depends on the number of registrations in a given year.

More information about the individual courses can be found here.

Our video “IBC Schnupperstunde” gives a small insight into everyday school life in the IBC stream.
